Deputy U.S. Marshal Wyatt  Earp, an American hero who helped tame the Old West,  will have his 161st birthday celebrated in a Western Weekend, August 1th, 2009 in Monmouth, Illinois,  where he was born in 1848. The THE OK CORRAL REENACTMENT WILL BE AT 2 PM, SAT. AUG. 1

THE SHADY CREEK SHOOTISTS, OF THE SASS (SINGLE ACTION SHOOTING SOCIETY) WILL AUTHENTICALLY  RE-ENACT THE OK CORRAL SHOOTOUT IN THE AFTERNOON AT 2 AND 3 PM.  THERE WILL BE CARRIAGE RIDES, MUSIC, PONY HEADS TO LASSO, AND FARM ANIMALS TO FEED OR PET. THE BIRTHPLACE HISTORIC HOUSE MUSEUM WILL BE OPEN FROM 1 TO 4 PM, WITH  DINNER FOLLOWING AT 5 PM AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT.  (ORDER FROM THE MENU).
